History Of Cervical Spine Fusion, Lumbar Fusion, Rock Solid Knots In Neck And Shoulder Muscles. Severe Headache. Reason?
Good evening. In 2009 I had cervical spine fusion c-5/c-6 due to degenerative disc disease. I also had lumbar fusion as well L-5/s-1. I have been getting headaches for 2 years on and off but recnlyt much worse. I get bad vertigo first, vomiting, and then The excrutiating headache comes. I'm in bed some days for 24 hours. I have been though physical therapy, taken NSAIDs, prednisone, cortisone injections, trigger point injections and still I'm suffering. All my neck muscles and shoulder muscles are rock solid with knots. What could be causing these headaches?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The knots in the neck and shoulder region are likely to be in the muscle tissue. These can happen due to muscle spasm also. You can start taking muscle relaxants and see if it improves. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
