History Of Having Unprotected Sex Followed By Intake Of I Pill. Possible Pregnancy?

i had sex last night and the condom tore but we are not sure that if it happened in me or out but my partner ejaculated out.and i found a piece of condom in my vagina!i had an ipill after an hour of intercourse!but still im worried as i do not want to get pregnant at this point of time!i m 21 yr old.also i wanted to know if it is okay not to have a vaginal bleeding after taking the pill.please help!

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

You have done the right thing in taking the emergency pill. It is best to take the tablet within 2 - 3 hours after sexual contact but anytime before 72 hours also helps.

Taking the pill can cause early or delayed periods in some women and you must be aware of that for up to two cycles. Taking ipill regularly is not advised as it can cause side effects like ovarian cysts.
