History Of Recurred Pinworm Infection In A Year, Treated With Mebandazole. Healthy And Hygenic Lifestyle. Treatment To Ensure Eradication?
My daughter has had pin worms 4-5 times in the past year and 1/2. She has been treated with mebendazole each time. We live in a clean environment and do not know any others who have the illness. It has been almost a year since the last episode. She has been much more conscious of hand hygiene and hygiene in general. Is it a reinfection or is it possible that the ova lay dormant, then return? What are other treatments to ensure irradication?
HI Thank for asking to HCM Total eradication is required for pinworm, in the sens of other person or class mate they all should be treated simultaneously to get a good result and long term monitoring will also be needed, if Mebandazole fails to work then albendazole can be tried and dosage for this would be three time in week for three week as for example one tab, a day for three day then in next week same, one tab a day for three days and in last week the same patron, will give good result with condition that other suspected family members should be treated simultaneously and school mate too, have nice day.
