History Of Septoplasty. Have Sharp Bone In Nose Sticking Out. Extra Cartilage?
Hi I had septoplasty to correct a deviated septum over 7 years ago. At the same time, I also had my adenoids removed and some polys. Since then I am not sure whether during the healing process I knocked my nose, but in my right nostril I have always felt a sharp bone that sticks out.- is this extra cartillage? It seems to have got worse over the years. If you look up my nostrils, my left one seems normal however my right nostril almost looks as though its closed because of the extra growth. What would surgey involve to remove this? Can it just be shaved down?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The sharp sticking out bone that you can see is likely to be an extra growth of cartilage. If this is cosmetically bothersome then a surgical correction is recommended. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
