How Can severe Swelling Along With Pain In The Foot Be Treated?

Hello, earlier this week when I got up from my desk and started to walk, I landed on the side right side of my right foot. It hurt a little, but the next day it hurt more and now my whole foot aches and is swollen. It s been six days. Not sure if it just needs time to heal or if I should see a doctor. It is made better by rest and worse by walking or standing.

Hello,

It seems you have sprained your ankle. I would advise you to avoid bearing weight on that foot.

Ice the effected area and wrap it with a crepe bandage to avoid too much movement.

You should take an anti-inflammatory like Advil to reduce pain and inflammation.

If the pain and swelling do not subside in a day or two you should get yourself checked by an orthopaedic.

He may advise you an X-ray. I hope that answers your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
