How Can Crohn S Disease Be Treated?

G.I. specialist said I need surgery due to Crohn s disease. I have been treated for colitis / crohn s with Entyvio, 4 treatments, and Stelara, 2 treatments, did not result in remission. MY QUESTION: 6 years ago a surgeon implanted large mesh, about 7x10 due to 2 cm hernia. DOES THE MESH become obstruction for surgery to remove entire colon, stoma, affix bag?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The mesh doesn’t affect major bowel surgeries. Mesh doesn’t cause any obstruction for surgery. Better to go for surgery at the earliest to avoid unwanted complications.

Wishing all the best.

Thanks.
