Hello,

Lack of sleep causes all sorts of complications. If the medicines are not doing you any good than you should report to your treating doctor, you may be prescribed other medicines that suits you better. Sometimes, the side effects of certain medicines cause you uncomfortable symptoms. Avoid taking medicines for a prolonged period. It may cause dependence.

You are advised to include fiber in your daily food and also take fibre supplements. Avoid constipation, take laxatives for a better bowel movement. You are advised to stay well hydrated. Take water and fluids. To get relief, take antacids and proton pump inhibitors. Avoid spending your time on PC or laptop or mobile after dusk. Give time for your body system to relax. Read an interesting book or listen to relaxing or energizing music. Avoid afternoon naps.

Go to bed only when you feel sleepy. Watch a movie till your eyes get tired. Do not take coffee, tea, or beverage at night. Do walking in the morning and evening not less than 2kms. Make your bedroom comfortable. Go to bed only when you sleepy, take home made food cooked in olive oil. Avoid oily spicy junk food.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
