How Can I Induce Regular Periods And A Proper Menstruation Cycle When I Am Experiencing Delayed And Irregular Menstruation?

I usually have late periods and thats very normal for me. I was supposed to have my period on 20th May but I am not having it yet. I am not pregnant and irregular periods are very normal for me. But if I continue to not have my period, I will be gaining weight. So what should I do to bring it back? Any medications?

Hello,

Irregular periods or stoppage of periods occur due to hormonal issues, thyroid problems, anemia, secondary amenorrhea, PCOS, pregnancy, etc. You are suggested to get a routine clinical examination done to check your general health conditions. You may need to get some blood tests, urinalysis, imaging tests done to detect the factor causing discomfort. You will be treated accordingly.

If you had been having unprotected sex and were not on any type of CP, you are suggested to have a urine test for pregnancy done to confirm whether you are pregnant or not. You can get it checked by a gynecologist. She may tell you to get a USG done. If you are not pregnant, you can take Medroxyprogesterone for 7-10 days, once you stop taking the medicine you should get your periods.
