How Can I Manage Fever, Headache And Loss Of Appetite In A Child While Being Treated For Strep Throat?
Hey my son is almost 6 and was diagnosed with strep throat last wed. We started amoxicillin last wed. As well to cure it. Here we are a week later and he is still running a 100-102 fever, no energy, leg cramps, headaches, almost complete loss of appetite and some nausea. Could this be more serious than juststrep throat since hes been an meds for a week now?
Repeated attacks of fever may be due to tonsillitis or post nasal drip or allergic origin. Use paracetamol syrp according to body weight thrice a day for five days.
Give him liquids, milk more. After fever subsided the appetite may return back. If symptoms not improved please consult your pediatrician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
