How Can TD Be Healed?

Just came back from Mexico.. have travellers diarrhea (TD) since Wed. I also have IBS for which I have a prescription (Dicetel). Can I take Pepto-Bismal and Dicetel together? I thought the TD was just about over, but today I have severe abdominal pain and the diarrhea has gotten worse again and it now feels more like an IBS attack.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of getting back from Mexico, have traveler's diarrhea, also have IBS, taking Dicetel. Want to know whether can take this with Pepto Bismol - Developed severe pain in abdomen and diarrhea as if IBS is increased...
Your history is suggestive of an infection of the intestinal tract and in spite of waiting, better to get the stool and blood tests to decide whether there is an infection and if present you can be started on an antibiotic and metronidazole added on with probiotics, symptomatic and supportive treatment and get well.
This obviously will have added symptoms of IBS hence take care of IBS too.
