How Can A Bruise On The Hand After Being Electrocuted Be Treated?

I got a minor shock today from unplugging an oven today. about an hour later I noticed an unexplained bruise on the same hand but around my thumb, not on the side of my hand just under my pinkie finger where I actually had the contact. Does the shock explain the bruise?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of a bruise. My treatment advice is –

1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream.
3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
