How Can A Bug Bite Swelling On The Thigh Be Treated?

I got a bug bite a couple days ago I think...I noticed it when part of my thigh swelled to the size of a baseball. It was normal colored and I couldn't tell it was even a bite. Then the next day it started bruising and is very black and brown now. it's like a 3" diamater circle of bruising with a bite in the middle. Any ideas as to what it is?
