How Can A Burn Wound On The Hand Be Treated?

Using curling iron a week ago and accidentally burned an area on arm about an inch in length. Put neosporin on and a bandaid but now it s a little swollen and has redness around it and extends an inch and a half from sore. Don t know what else to do now.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Don't apply bandaid on burnt wound.
Do dressing with sulfasalazine cream.
And apply simple bandage (cotton).
Some degree of edema is common after burns. This edema will gradually subside.
If pain is more then you can take painkiller like ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
If blisters are formed or pain is worsening then consult doctor.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
