How Can A Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumour Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with Gi just three days ago and nothing else is being done. how urgent should I be to begin treatment? GI bleeding got me to the hospital and an endoscopic procedure found the tumor. I am a 64 yr of male in generally good health.
