How Can A Hamstring Injury Causing Pain Be Treated?

I pulled my right hamstring while in the splits. It s hurt for about two weeks now, and doesn t seem to be getting any better. I m trying not to do anything that hurts it during dance practices, and I haven t been able to stretch it out since that hurts too much. Today it s been hurting more to walk and stand for extended periods of time. Is there any way to speed up the recovery process? I have a dance convention I m supposed to go to near the end of the month and I m worried it s not going to get better. Would acupuncture help?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely due to muscle strain. In such case i advise NSAIDs like aceclofenac muscle relaxants like thiocolchicoside and rest of muscle from hard physical exertion for 5 days to 1 week. Initially you can apply ice pack. After 3 days you can apply warm water bags. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
