How Can A Pain In The Swollen Finger Be Reduced?

hi . i knocked my middle finger on a tree yesterday very hard . Now my knuckle is swollen and very painful . I don t think is broken cause i can move my finger , very painful though . What could be this ? Anything I can do to reduce the pain and ease the swollen ?

Do get an xray done for hairline crack or subluxation in which some movement is possible. Do hot water fomentation and wear a finger splint to avoid movement and promote healing and to subside swelling. See a orthopedic doc. and get xray.Take paracetamol/ibuprofen thrice a day if available, after meals.
