How Can A White Bump On The Gum Be Treated?

My daughter is 10 and told me one of her teeth was hurting. I looked at it and see a bump on the gum that s kind of white looking. It is a baby tooth. Not sure what to do. There is no swelling to the face. It s late tonight and I m wanting advice if this is something that can wait till the morning to go to a after hours clinic to get a antibiotic

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I am a pediatrician and am happy to help.
If she does not have a fever and there in no swelling of her gums, then it will be okay to wait until morning to get dental help.
In the meantime give her acetaminophen(every 4 hours) or ibuprofen(every
6 hours) for pain.
The dentist will most likely remove the tooth. It doesn't sound as if she will need an antibiotic.
I hope that I have been able to help you. Please return again if you have more questions.
