How Can An Aching Leg Be Treated?

Hi...I am 42 yrs old and healthy but I am having aching and sometimes shooting leg pains all the time. I do exercise but haven't in the past couple weeks. It is like a constant ache mainly in my upper legs quadriceps areas. This has been going on for a few weeks and seems to be getting worse in the past few days. Ibuprofen doesn't help much. What is the likely cause and what can I take for it?

Hello dear,

In absence of any trauma or injury, the symptoms as mentioned in your post can be attributed to:
1. Deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vitamin B 12, Calcium, Magnesium, etc.
2. Any fluctuation in blood pressure levels
3. Altered blood sugar levels
4. Inadequate hydration & nutrition status.
5. Peripheral neuropathy.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure and blood sugar levels will be helpful in clinching the diagnosis.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained with nervigenic agents (like Vit B6, B12, Folic acid) as well as multivitamin & mineral supplementation.
Use of heating pad, application of analgesic+muscle relaxant gel & physiotherapy exercises will also be helpful.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Meanwhile, maintain adequate hydration, take a healthy balanced diet & avoid stress.

Wishing a good health.
Take care.
