How Can An Infected Toe Nail Be Treated?

I have a big toe nail which was coming off to I tried to cut it down. It looks really bad underneath the nail, like raw meat. It was infected and I squeezed all the pus out, but I don t know what else to do. Should I go to the Emergency room? If I have to pay for an answer, nevermind. I was just laid off and have no income. Thank you anyway

Hi,

Visit a surgeon to treat infection and hypertrophic granulation tissue. Local debridement and oral or intravenous antibiotics should be started. Keep the area dry and away from water.
