How Can An Ovarian Cyst Be Treated?

I’m 62 year old female. While looking for diverticulitis to explain my symptoms of bloating, heaviness and frequent urge to urinate,sharp shooting pain and tenderness in lower abdomen and some off and and on dizziness and nausea they found a 3.5 cyst on right ovary. Who should I see for this and how concerned should I be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I recommend you do a test known as CA-125. It is tumoral marker for ovarian cancer.There is a possibility that this cyst maybe ovarian cancer. If this analysis comes normal you should not be worried but need only to control it periodically. In this case it can burst itself .
