How Can Anxiety Be Treated?

What is the best anti anxiety drug for elderly people? My mother has been on lexapro for a few years at the maximum dose of 20 mg. She continues to suffer from anxiety, but her doctor refuses to change her medication. I have decided to switch doctors. Other than her anxiety and atrial fib, she is in remarkably good health at 87 years old. Any advice would be helpful . Thank you.

What is the medication she is taking for Atrial fibrillation? As Anxiety is closely associated with atrial fib the correct treatment will reduce anxiety attack also. Lexapro is good for her I advise you to check for her atrial fib tablets with the physician.
