How Can Appetite Loss In An Infant Be Treated?

Gudafternoon sir, my child is 1 yr old nd she is a girl nd I don t know wat happened to her..she has just forget to eat ....she is eating nothing...nd nor even feeling hunger...j m very tensed plss...give me suggestions nd suggest me medicine for her so that she becomes healthy nd start eating her diet....i ll be very thankful about ur consultation...

I understand your concern about your daughter. Loss of appetite in an infant cannot be overlooked by the parents. Most of the times it is not something to be worried about. Infants are very active and busy in discovering their surroundings, as every thing is new to them. As they are at the point of starting to walk, the world is suddenly more accessible to them. Hence eating takes a backseat for them. They mostly eat only when they are extremely hungry. I wouldn't be worried if she is active and doing all the things appropriate for her age and her height and weight stay within normal limits. If there are some problems with the above, only then it is required to get her checked.

There is also a chance that she might be suffering from worm infestation, which are known to cause loss of appetite. But for your satisfaction you can start her on appetiser syrups, which can increase her appetite.

I hope your daughter have a normal healthy living.
