Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have developed blisters on my lips that would come and go. Now they have turned into bruises. I m talking over 6 years of pain, itching and burning. My doctor says it s a vitamin b shortage. Doesn t matter how many supplement s I take never gets any better.
Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare Magic. With this presentation, I think the blisters are caused by a virus (Herpes labialis). In the course of an infection, the body produces antibodies to fight these viruses. Some of the viruses are destroyed in the process while some become inactive and hide in nerve ganglions. When conditions are favorable (especially when the immune system is depressed), the viruses become reactivated producing blisters. Treatment may be topical (acyclovir cream, anesthetic cream or an antiseptic) or oral (acyclorvir tablets)
I hope that helps. I wish you good health
