Welcome to hcm
Hiccup is most commonly due to gastro esophageal reflux or due to renal failure. Or uremia and rarely we see hiccups in liver failure ,pneumonia and pancreatitis so the cause of the hiccups is to be investigated before treatment.
Breath holding exercises help in stopping the hiccups in many.
Many vasovagal stimulation method like gargling cold water biting on a lemon can be tried
The causative thing for the hiccups is to be treated for complete recovary.
For medical management of hiccup chlorpromazine is used .
