How Can Chronic Bronchitis Be Treated?

i had as a child chronic bronchitis. It went away in my young years, now in my late 60s its back with a vengeance. Sometimes it feels like Asthma, when I cough for instance. Is albuterol or Symbicort an alternative? I am not coughing as bad as I did for 3 month, but still get those attacks from December till April I was not really breathing right

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Albuterol will help dilate the bronchial tubes so you can use it.
Some other suggestions are:
-A humidifier or steam can also help.
-You can also use a cough syrup
-drink liquids

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
