Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern.
Based on the history and the lung function tests done you seem to be suffering from chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD).
Had I been your treating physician I would have started bronchodilators like Salbutamol+
Ipratropium bromide inhaler to relieve the bronchospams and a short course treatment with oral steroids to suppress the inflammation associated with the airways in COPD.
I would have also added a mucolyte (to decrease the consistency of the sputum) like Ambroxol or
Acetylcysteine.
Beside, you must avoid smoking (if you are doing so), dust, exposure to cold air, etc.
Protonix (
Pantoprazole) is a
proton pump inhibitor that decreases the acid production in the stomach and is commonly prescribed to treat inflammation of the
esophagus, stomach or ulcers in the stomach or duodenum due to excessive production of stomach acid.
It is not used in the treatment of bronchospams caused by COPD.
Hope the advice given above would be useful.
