How Can Chronic Flatulence Be Treated?

I have excessive and very offensive gas to the point it is affecting my job and lack of being close to anybody. I have had surgery & 1 foot of my bowels removed (tumor benign) taking fiber, and medication to keep me from having diarrhea EVERYTIME I eat, but I continue to expel gas. No idea what to do anymore.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The chronic flatulence issue seems to be alterations in gut flora, recommendations at present are:
- consume more liquids
- strict dietary measures to avoid all spices, non-veg, junk foods, dairy fat.
- control of blood sugar, cholesterol, body weight
- no smoking or alcohol consumption.
- regular walking in fresh air, exercises.
- generous use of prokinetic drugs, bulk forming laxatives after discussion with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
