How Can Chronic Pain Be Treated?

I had a liver transplant 10 years ago for cholangiocarcoma. I am on Tacrolimus...pretty low dose. I am doing well. I also have had breast cancer and lung cancer, both caught early.

I am 71 and active. But, I have some chronic pain issue so I have been taking prescribed oxycodone 5 mg 4 times a day for years. I do not like doing this. I was told not to take NSAIDs after my liver transplant and have not done that for all these years. My kidney function is fine. A few days ago, I tried taking one aleve tablet. The relief I experienced was wonderful. Is it okay for me to take aleve occasionally. I think it could even substitute for the oxycodone.

NSAIDS cause DILI (drug induced liver injury), you already a liver transplantation patient it may cause more problem please consult your physician, he will examine and check for liver function tests and treat you accordingly.
