Respected Sandie , hi I evaluated your query thoroughly.
*Some degree of cramps with dysphagia is common for solid foods expected
in all cases for first 2-6 weeks after surgery ( due to post surgical edema &
inflammation slowing bolus transit of foods )
*Dysphagia beyond 3 months ( after dietary modifications as soft diets,
plenty of liquids ) usually have fundoplication too tight for their functional
esophageal pump ; previously unrecognized achalasia, healed peptic
stricture & many more.
*Tests are required as Barium Esophagogram, Esophageal manometry +/-
Endoscopy .
* If fundoplication is intact - bougie +/- through the scope balloon dilatation
- Pnematic dilatation if Bougie dilatation fails.
- Revision surgery ( Convert total fundoplication to a partial wrap )
*So dear Sandie , hi moral of the story you have to make on your own.
Hope this clears your query.
