How Can Dementia Along With Aggressive Behaviour Be Treated?

My mom has not been actually diagnosed with dementia but definitely has the symptoms. She has recently gotten very aggressive and agitated with everyone around her. I am at wits ins and do not know what to do with her or what medications I should give her? She is 93 . she is at an ALF in the memory care unit. YYYY@YYYY

Hello,
This is a difficult problem. Many patients with memory impairment develop some behavioral changes. Sometimes some of the newer antipsychotics are used to calm these patients but they can have many side effects and in some cases may even shorten their life. She needs to be seen by a neurologist or psychiatrist for them to make recommendations for treatment.
