dear user first i would like to to tell you that diarrhea in infants is avery common problem and we should take it seriously because of its complications.......this diarrhea with fever is due to viral infection or bacterial infection but the most common cause is viral infection so when the baby take the antibiotics it may have no effect as viral infections not improve with antibiotics......i need you to take it simply and seriously at the same time....discuss eith your doctor to do investigation for that ...doing stool culture is very helpful in this case to indicate the cause....about steps of treatment i would like to tell you that antidiarrheal drugs have no role and it may get symptoms worse but the most important step in treatment is giving your baby fluids ...the fear of diarrhe is because its complication as dehydration may occur because if loss of fluids...so you should give him enough fluids that will help alot and give him rehydration solution 200 ml for every two times of diarrhea....rehydration solutions is very important and will improve diarrhea because of what is called electrolyte disturbance which occur in this case and cause prolonged diarrhea...you should also give hime rice water and soup and give him tea with little suger and also starch have good effect against diarrhea....simply dont forget fluids ,oral rehydration sachets,tea,starch..it look simple but very important.......wish your baby healthy life
