How Can Diarrhea And Nausea Be Treated?

HI, Ive had diarrhea for several months witch i take Lomotil and cholestyramine daily. I had had tatol knee replacement 5 weeks ago. since then Ive lost about 8lbs. I also have nausea and no appetite. I also feel tired and generally unwell. I have an appt. with my gastroenterologist in August, the soonest appt available. What would you advise meanwhile? Many causes for nausea most common cause are like anemia, sepsis, gastritis or Irritable Bowel syndrome or infections or appendicitis or fatty liver etc.
