My kid is 10 months old. He was having loose motions and vomiting ,3 days back. His doctor has given oflamac syrup half of spoons thrice a day, emeset syrup 2.5 ml twice a day and racigyl sachet . now he is alright. I have given him all the medicines for two days.I want to ask whether i have to continue the medicine for one more day or have to stop giving the medicine.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Oflamac is an antibiotic and generally when we start antibiotics it is recommended to take them for at least 3 days to prevent development of resistance so please continue them for at least one more day.

Make sure your child is drinking well and is well hydrated. To better supplement the child with water and electrolytes in the right balance you can give oral rehydration solutions which you can access over the counter in pharmacy and give regular small amounts during the day.

Any worsening or concerns please see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Antoneta Zotaj, MD
