How Can Diarrhea Be Treated?

I have had very loose stools for nearly 3 weeks. At first, I thought it was due to a side effect of an antibiotic I was on for an ear infection. Was on the antibiotic for 5 days before the diarrhea started. Stopped the antibiotic but the diarrhea continued for 4-5 more days. Diarrhea stopped, normal stools for a few days, than I felt constipated, took a laxative and now have had diarrhea again for the past 3 days. Sometimes, I can just cough or blow my nose, thankfully, I am on the commode. There is a yellow tinge on the toilet paper. Any Advice would be greatly appreciated, Cheryl
