Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic!

Diarrhea in an infant could be due to infection(viral or bacterial) or could be due to food allergy.
Most cases it will resolve with antibiotics and supportive treatment without any complications.

Most childhood diarrhea is self-limiting and medical care is mainly supportive. You can do the following as a first line management under the evaluation of a general practitioner.
Continue breast feeding.
Re hydration by giving ORS(Oral Rehydration Solution)
Antibiotics if signs of infection present.
antidiarrheal agents are generally not necessary and could be harmful for infants.

if symptoms persist or signs of severe dehydration is present baby need hospitalization and further evaluation may be needed.

Further work up done as follow..
CBC (Complete Blood Count)
Stool culture for ova,cyst,and parasites.
Rotavirus antigen tests.

Take care
Hope your concern solved
