I have been on flarex eye drops for three years due to chronic dry eye two to four times daily; I am also on restasis and was told to use artificial tears multiple times a day I have issues with broken blood vessels and also have an ocular cyst (clear little bubble) in the inner corner of each eye. I recently went for a second opinion to an Opthamologiist and she sees the beginning stages of a cataract in my right eye. I was weaned off of the flarex from 3 to 4 times a day to 2 times a day to once a day and 0 times a day. The only thing i use is restasis and allergy free otc eye drops. Initially my eyes felt much better; however this is the 3rd day without flarex and my eyes are incredibly dry with broken blood vessels in each eye. I see the dr. for a recheck in 7 days. I am 52 years old; post menopausal with chronic dry issues related to menopause in other parts of my body. I understand that Flarex is a steroid and she was disturbed i had been on the medication for so long and wants to remove me from it and check the health of my eyes free of the flarex. I have 20-20 vision in my left eye and 20-60 in my right. I am hoping to find relief from this painful dry eye with related broken blood vessels soon. Thank you
