Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most common reason for such low reading from clinical thermometer is due to sweating in armpits after fever subsides. So, wipe the area dry before measuring body temperature. In case it persistentLy below 96.5 degrees Fahrenheit then approach a pediatrician for proper clinical examination and evaluation.

Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
