How Can Elevated PSA Levels Be Treated?

I have been on lupron for prostate cancer. My prostate was removed than a year after my PSA went to 60.7. I started lupron in Feb. 2015 followed by 6 chemo treatments. My PSA has been at .002 ever since. My cat scan showed I have 1 tiny tumor in my upper right ab. I am concerned that lupron has bad side effects long term. Are there other ways to battle this. I am 64.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Lupron may cause,redness/burning/stinging/pain/bruising at the injection site, hot flashes (flushing),increased sweating, night sweats, tiredness, headache ,testicle pain, impotence, depression, increased growth of facial hair, or memory problems. Your PSA is already under control so don't worry. Check regularly for scan to know ant metastasis. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
