How Can Fever And Cough In A Child Causing Sleeplessness Be Treated?

Hello my daughter is 2years old and she been having 100.0 to 101 fever goes down with antibiotics to 99. She is eating ok.but complaning something hurts at night especially if she sees ligght. I went er two times and everythings comes okay but this 3rd night shes complaining hurt and no sllep and vicks isnt helping nothing is helping sleep and or stop complaining something hurts her cough is persisntant.

Hello,

Does your child have any rash or red splotches on her body? She seems to have photophobia as she has pain on seeing light.

This is a significant problem suggesting a sinusitis or meningitis-like symptom. does she have stiffness in the neck vomiting?

Has she been immunized for her age? There is a significant cough with chest pain suggesting of a respiratory tract infection.

You have mentioned she is on some antibiotics but there are no details here.

I want to know her activity pattern between fever or so-called interfebrile phase, the number of times she gets a fever in the day, her appetite activity, urine frequency etc.

Since the fever is persistent I would like to get her blood counts like total and differential counts, x-ray chest blood culture and CSF.

I would like to rule out meningitis and sinusitis by getting a C T scan of the head and a lumbar puncture after she is examined by your local paediatrician.
