How Can Fever And Cough In A Child Despite Taking Crocin Be Treated?

Hi My son is 9.5 years He weigh 47 kgs It s 1130am here in Singapore Last night he suddenly got fever After we got back from an outing , we went to botania garden which was humid followed by restaurant that was a bit cold, over the last two days he had a bit a cough more at night and I gave him honey and an aurvedic medicine which fixed his cough We gave him half crocin tablet before bed last night and half in the morning around 3 hours back, nothing seem to be improving as such What to do? I feel that the dosage given is less may be Pls respond here only

Hi,

It is very likely that your child has a high respiratory viral infection, with a history of exposure to cold. In case of fever, you can help with physical means, place warm cloths at the front, armpits and groin; to lower body temperature. Even if the fever is very high, greater than 38ºC is better to bathe.

In addition, if you can get you can give Acetaminophen (Tylenol), the whole tablet, for its weight there is no problem with that dose.

As for as the Crocin, you can give the whole tablet, no problem, every 6 hours.
