How Can Food Poisoning, Severe Stomach Pain And Cold Be Treated?
My. Husband is showing signs of food poisoning, sever stomach cramps, feels the need to throw up, shivering, cold, in bed with two blankets. He ate nothing different then myself who feels fine? He is 67 diabetic, has had open heart surgery March 2012 .
Dear- Thanks for using our system and I reviewed your medical concern in detail. Your husband's problem might be food poisoning although both ate the same. That can happen ,mostly in patients with diabetes where the immune system is not as good as others. These patients are more prone to develop an infection easier than not diabetics. He should drink a lot of fluid and what for fever and diarrhea. If it last more than 48 hrs, it is advisable to have a medical evaluation because he might need antibiotics. I hope that my advise will be helpful Dr.Sara
