How Can Frequent Urination Be Treated?

I am a 52 year old female, 5 6 140 lbs, three children, six pregnancies, in menopause, quite 35 year smoking habit in Sept. 2017,training for my first marathon. I have to urinate on every running step regardless of morning, afternoon or evening run. My last 1/2 Marathon, in Sept. 2017 involved six stops to urinate and I was never really comfortable. How do I fix this? Or is it probably not fixable?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As far as my clinical experience is concerned, the cause of urination frequency has to be sorted out which can be urinary infection, calculus in the urinary system, narrowing of urethra, systemic issues as diabetes or others.

* In our clinic, I recommend a systemic evaluation of patient with basic lab tests, ultrasound, uroflowmetry for further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
