Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How can i stop getting hiccups i am getting hiccuos multiple times a day and it never happened before its been 1 week now and i hve been fasting so i thought it might be because of less intake of water but it isnt working even if i am getting required amount of water
Hiccups is a sign of ingesting too much air. This can happen when: - you eat too fast - you eat or drink too much - using straw when drinking
If you avoid eating too fast, and too much, avoid using straw and take antacid after meal, if this won't resolve your problem, then, I recommend to: - consult further with gastroenterologist - run upper endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound
Wish fast recovery.
