General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It appears from your description that your husband could be having irritation of diaphragm, which is causing hiccups. Hence, it would be advisable for you to take an ultrasound scan of abdomen as well as chest x-ray to know what could be the cause. If abdominal scan is normal, some pathology in the stomach could be the cause for hiccups, which needs evaluation by upper GI endoscopy. Kindly consult Physician with the investigation reports for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
