How Can High Fever And Cough In A Child Be Treated?
Hello my son is 4 and half years old, he has high fever from past 3 days, he was given CEPODEM antibiotics along with p250 , but there was no change in his fever, later he was given meftalgesic p syrup which sustained his fever , but due to high fever he is unable to walk and has pain in his legs n also headache, we did his blood test cbc esr and dengue where in dengue is negative esr is also negative his wbc count is reduced . Now doctor has stopped the antibiotics after 6 doses and gvn only ibullgesic plain. But today he is coughing a lot and also has fever agai.pls Suggest
Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days.
