How Can High Fever In A Child Despite Giving Crocin Syrup Thrice Be Treated?
Hi, my son is 3 yr 10 months, having high fever (beteen 102 to 103) for last 12 hrs, I have given Crosin syrup thrice but fever comes down a little bit only that too for sometime only, I am giving sponge as well to reduce fever, what else I can do to reduce fever, pls advice. for high grade fever ...please give proper dosage of paracetamol ...dosage is 15 mg per kg and for ur child dose will be approx 7 ml of syrup vrocin containing paracetamol 125 mg per 5 ml and dosage to be repeated exactly 8 ...if this does not work give it 6 hourly ..and if still no effect den in place of syrup crocin...u have to give syrup meftogesic plus ( mafenemic acid 50 mg and paracetamol 125 mg per 5 ml ) but dat have to be given 12 hourly ...besides dis give plenty of liquid to child ...and get her CBC done to rule to bacterial infection and malaria also to be ruled out ...usually high grade fever is viral and does not need antibiotics...
