How Can Hypercholesterolemia Be Prevented In An Elderly Breast Cancer Patient?
I am on Femara plus IBrance for breast cancer treatment started very recently.i m concerned about hypercholesrterolemia noted in more than 50% of patients. Thus far, my lipid profile has been good. I am 72 years old, Is there any other measures i can take to prevent high cholesterol levels?
Hello , thank you for the query. although there is increase risk of hypercholesterolemia in breast cancer patients, when it comes to patients with normal lipid profile they need not to worry, but can be cautious by taking certain measures 1. healthy food habits like low fat, low carbohydrates and high fiber diet 2. good physical work or regular exercises 3. adequate intake of water 4. annual or half yearly checking of lipd profile , TREATMENT ONLY AFTER ELEVATED LIPD LEVELS ALWAYS PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE i suggest you not to worry , be positive and keep an eye on your lipd profile
Hope this will help, feel free to ask anything further
Hello, Yes. Have your diet mostly based in fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid a lot of sugar and carbohydrates. Eat only lean meat or fish and do not eat fried foods. This should help to keep your cholesterol in the normal range. Exercise as tolerated can also help. Regards
