How Can I Control Attention Seeking Behaviour In My Child?

Hello, I am a single fauther of two girls. Yesterday my nine year old called her monther and left a message that translated to a cry for attention from her mother. The girls get to see there mom only in the summers in TX and we live in NY. How can I help her to know that she is loved by both of her partnets?
