How Can Itchy Rashes Be Treated While Suffering From Scarlet Fever?
My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat and scarlet fever a few days ago. She was given antibiotics. It’s been two days since she’s been taking the antibiotics. Her rash from the scarlet fever irritates her every once in a while. I am wondering what I can do or give her to help with the rash & itchy sensation? Will children’s Benadryl help with her itching?

How old is the child? For strep throat its important to complete the course of antibiotics if child is symptom free. You can use Calamine lotion for local application or first generation antihistaminics in proper dosage.
