How Can Jaw Swelling And Burning With Skin Stretching Be Soothed?

I have a cracked tooth and I know it must be pulled but that s just one issue by itself. My jaw is swollen and feels like my skin is stretching. My jaw starts feeling like it is burning when I touch it on the outside. What can I do to soothe the hot/burning sensation until I get to the doctor?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The swelling and burning sensation can be because of the tooth infection leading to cellulitis, which makes the skin stretched and shiny. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get a radiograph done to confirm the diagnosis. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole(if you are not allergic). Do not apply pressure over the swelling by touching it or covering it. Do saline gargling.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
